Are you familiar with the psychologist Wilhelm Reich? One of his key ideas was the concept of the whole body orgasm. He believed that ordinary immature man only experiences a genital orgasm and through Reichian training a person can experience a whole body orgasm. Here is a sentence from the book The Super-Natural by Colin Wilson:

"Moreover, in the 20th century, another remarkable rebel, Wilhelm Reich, came independently to the conclusion that health is governed by tides of vital force called orgone energy."

Wilhelm Reich's ideas seem to me to be a western methodology and terminology invented to deal in the same areas that eastern sages deal with in their descriptions of prana and the life forces.
