Basic Supply Cupboard

Keeping a supply cupboard saves you runs to the store for that one ingredient. Keeping a supply cupboard has you always prepared for an emergency meal or the sudden arrival of guests. Saves money, saves time.

- Refrigerated rolls
- Dumpling / biscuit mix
- Flours, bread and cake
- Milk
- Canned
- Evaporated
- Powdered
- Non-dairy creamer (stores in freezer, refrigerator, indefinitely on shelf)
- Ingredients
- Garlic
- Onions
- Few cans tomatoes, tomato paste & tomato sauce
- Canned soup: cream of mushroom, celery, and cheddar cheese for a quick sauce
- Beef broth
- Chicken broth
- Vegetable broth
- Bouillon cubes
- Cans of minced clams, tuna, boned chicken for casseroles
- Cans of corn for fritters, bread, and chowders
- Box of cornmeal
- Rice
- Noodles
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Raisins, walnuts, pine nuts, almonds
- Yeasts
- Onion juice
- Garlic juice
- Salt, pepper, various spices
- Other Necessities
- Frozen meat, frozen shrimp, anything frozen and at least one ice chest in case the electricity goes out.
- Candles, matchbooks
- Fire extinguisher
Make up your own supply list and keep it stocked. Look for bulk sales.
