Coin of Lugh

TIME:

Ritual may be performed at any time during the phase of waxing moon.

REQUIREMENTS:

Two gold candles
A small spear (carved from a twig of wood)
A short length of metal chain
Small ceramic statue of any dog from the hound family (i.e., Foxhound, Irish Setter, Cocker Spaniel, Dalmatian, Setters and Spaniels. If you cannot make or find a small statue of such an animal, you might politely take a small clipping of hair from such a hound to represent Lugh's favorite beast.)
A small "magic" wand (carved from a twig)
A small purple velvet pouch filled with 5 coins (real silver would be nice, but dimes may be used.)
A single small coin that has been gently cut from tin foil and etched with the letter L

ON THE NIGHT OF THE RITUAL:

Bring the above listed items to your altar wrapped in a length of silk cloth. Set your altar as usual placing the two gold candles one to each side of the altar's pentacle. Cast your circle and kneel before the altar with the silk cloth on the floor in front of you. Take a moment to center yourself then recite:

Hail, Lugh, I call on thee;
As I will, so shall it be.
Moneys, earned, shall now come to me.
More, not less, than the work that I do;
Rewards be drawn by the coin in my shoe.

Now carefully remove the items from your cloth and place them on your altar. Place the five silver coins in a circle on the pentacle with the tin foil coin in the center. Recite:

Oh mighty Lugh, with these symbols of thee,
I invoke thy greatness and force.
Be it now channeled into this space,
And abundance shall come unto me.

Now light the gold candles and give as much time as felt needed to experience the energy within the circle. When sufficient time has passed (an hour is recommended), rise, place the tin foil coin in your hand and say:

It is done, my Lugh;
The force exists.
I honor thy presence;
Now honor my wish.

Extinguish the gold candles and whisper, "So mote it be." The ritual is now concluded. Open your circle and either glue or tape the tin foil coin on the bottom inside heel of any shoe that you wear often. The spell may be repeated to create a coin for every pair of shoes that you own.
